Sunday Slow Down- They only wish they could still remember…

“There’s an unshakable conviction within every adolescent– including the adolescent who lurks inside every adult– that love, your particular love, is more important than anything else.  Grownups, tired and jaded and mind-controlled beings that they are, will try to tell you otherwise, that it’s not the end of the world, but don’t trust them.  They’re just jealous.  They only wish they could still remember what the end of the world felt like.”

-Lev Grossman

A few weeks ago I posted this to my tumblr with overwhelming responses and decided to post it again here.  It’s the last paragraph from an article in the March 12, 2012 issue of Time Magazine entitled Love Among the Ruins, How our awful future became the next big thing.
